Group Aims
The 28th Medway Scout Group was first established in Rochester in 1925. Our aim, in line with that of the Scout Movement worldwide is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
The method of achieving the aim is through the provision of exciting and adventurous activities, with progressive training based on the scout promise and law guided by adult leadership. We seek to provide a programme of training, activities and awards for young people aged 6 to 25, to help young people to grow in a number of personal development areas and to ensure the young people themselves really are ‘learning by doing’.
Membership
As a group we have in excess of 100 male and female members in ages ranging from 4 to 25 years old in 1 Squirrel section, 2 Beaver sections, 2 Cub sections, 1 Scout section and 1 Explorer section. Group numbers have been consistently in excess of 100 young people for a number of years and we take on approximately 20 – 30 new members every year.
